Frequently asked questions
- How do I find a percentage of a number?
- Use the first row. For 20% of 150, enter 20 and 150 to get 30. The formula is (percentage ÷ 100) × number.
- How do I express one number as a percentage of another?
- Use the second row. 30 out of 150 is 20%, worked out as (part ÷ whole) × 100.
- What does percentage change show?
- The third row shows how much a value rose or fell relative to the starting number. Going from 150 to 180 is a 20% increase; a negative result means a decrease.
