About this tool

Your grade point average weights each course by how many credits it's worth, so a five-credit class counts more than a one-credit class. Add a row per course, pick the letter grade and enter the credits, and your GPA updates as you go.

Grades are mapped on the common 4.0 scale (A = 4.0 down to F = 0.0). The calculation runs entirely in your browser.

Frequently asked questions

How is GPA calculated?
Each grade becomes grade points on the 4.0 scale, multiplied by the course's credits. GPA is the total grade points divided by the total credits.
What scale do you use?
The standard 4.0 scale: A/A+ = 4.0, A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, and so on down to F = 0.0. Courses with zero credits are ignored.
Can I include different credit amounts?
Yes. Enter the real credit value for each course — the average is weighted, so heavier courses affect the result more.
