About this tool
Your grade point average weights each course by how many credits it's worth, so a five-credit class counts more than a one-credit class. Add a row per course, pick the letter grade and enter the credits, and your GPA updates as you go.
Grades are mapped on the common 4.0 scale (A = 4.0 down to F = 0.0). The calculation runs entirely in your browser.
Frequently asked questions
- How is GPA calculated?
- Each grade becomes grade points on the 4.0 scale, multiplied by the course's credits. GPA is the total grade points divided by the total credits.
- What scale do you use?
- The standard 4.0 scale: A/A+ = 4.0, A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3, B = 3.0, and so on down to F = 0.0. Courses with zero credits are ignored.
- Can I include different credit amounts?
- Yes. Enter the real credit value for each course — the average is weighted, so heavier courses affect the result more.
